Head-On DWI Crash: Woman Nabbed Following Long Island Incident

A Brooklyn woman has been arrested after she allegedly crashed head-on into a Long Island driver, leaving them with serious injuries, police said.

It happened on Sunday, Sept. 24. in Valley Stream.

Keyana Mccray, age 33, of Brooklyn, was driving west on Merrick Road in a 2020 BMW, Nassau County Police said.

At approximately 4 a.m. near the intersection of Rockaway Avenue, Mccray collided head-on with a 2020 Chevrolet.

The driver of Chevrolet, a 51-year-old woman, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her serious internal injuries.

She is currently in stable condition, police said.

Mccray and her passenger, a 43-year-old man, were also taken to area hospitals. They both suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

She is charged with:

  • DWI, two counts;
  • Vehicular assault; and
  • Assault.

Officials said Mccray will be arraigned when medically practical.
